“Little Tokyo Poetry” is surprisingly, mellow & uplifting. Kento revels in a calm cadence of notes, satisfying soundscape, and suspended patterns like ocean water gently washing over sand and shells. I was astonished by Kento’s incredible performance in this track, and the soundscape of this song made me listen to more of his songs which are comprised of peaceful melodies and rhythmic grooves that can transport any listener into a deep state of mind very easily. His performance brings excitement while still evoking an impressive musicality and display of the work’s textures. When all is said and done, Kento is surely one of a kind pianist that’s hard to take your eyes and ears away from.
